Beauty: La Roche Posay Sunscreen Review

La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL (Fluid)
.
It can be a huge disappointment when you do a lot of research to find a good product that is recommended by the experts and it does not give good results.
.
That is how it feels when you buy La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL Sunscreen. It is claimed to be one of the best sunscreens, for even the sensitive skin, as it provides perfect protection against wrinkle causing UVA rays and harmful UVB rays. It has a special chemical called "Mexoryl" that protects the skin from sun damage and is found in only a few sunscreens in the world. Many dermatologists and beauty experts recommend this product.
.

.
On the functionality front, we don't doubt the product because of its high recommendations and the famous French beauty label. However, on the application part this sunscreen is a total disaster. On application, it leaves white flakes on the skin (which looks like you have dandruff all over the face), no matter how carefully you apply this sunscreen. Moreover it leaves a very prominent white cast that looks very fake. It takes a lot of time to blend this sunscreen and then remove all the flakes from the skin.

One good part about this sunscreen is it does not cause breakout even on oily skin, like most other sunscreens. Overall would rate it an average product because of the flakiness. Ultimately, applying a product like this is pain.

French Secrets: Beauty and Style

What makes the French woman tick? It's their attitude to nutrition, beauty and accessories. French women are naturally sophisticated. They are inherently chic and their sense of fashion revolves around personal style. They do not slavishly follow trends if they are inappropriate to their figures or lifestyle.
.

.
Understatement is key, never too much of anything. This also applies to food. The French indulge in a little of everything, satisfying the taste buds and keeping cravings at bay. The key to French women's beauty is the check on their weight. If a French woman happens to see an additional kilogram or two on her bathroom scale, she will do whatever is necessary to force the needle back where it belongs. They tend to keep their weight steady, no ups and downs and eat all kinds of food in small portions.
.
When a French person diets, it is rigorous; green tea and a bowl of berries for breakfast (to up the protective antioxidant levels), lean white protein for lunch and dinner accompanied by leafy green vegetables. Do this every other day, until the desired weight loss has been achieved. Alcohol is avoided, and water with bubbles is reserved for special occasions, as it can be loaded with sodium (which causes fluid retention and high blood pressure) and depletes magnesium (which regulates blood pressure, promotes muscle tone, is needed for protein synthesis and counteracts negative effects of stress hormones in the body). Seasonal dieting is de rigueur, and body prep starts before Easter, so the French are in the best shape possible for the summer season. This totally makes sense.
.
When it comes to beauty, the French take care of their skin it is the starting point for everything. They chose products that suit them and have both morning and evening routines. Performance and efficiency is paramount extra radiant skin with the smartest products ever. They say that the French women spend on skincare is total of the women in Germany, Britain and Spain put together. French women start using anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing products at the age of 15-19, and continue to do so.

As for makeup, the starting point is clear radiant skin (achieved naturally or through imperceptible enhancements such as natural concealer), luxuriant glossy lashes and plumped lips nothing too extravagant, but always shades that are above all flattering to the wearer. A red lipstick is a must-have in every French Women's wardrobe!

For the French, makeup imparts a certain sophistication, provocative yet contained. In the evening, they totally understand the inimitable power of seduction of red lips.

The key to French beauty is to remain true to yourself. The antithesis of the American Barbie doll, but rather a combination of European sophistication and natural allure.

Beauty shines through attitudes, gestures and expressions, it comes out of fashion and a love of luxury.

French style is a long process of learning the French woman knows how to dress, how to be noticed when she enters a room and leaves just the merest trace of fragrance in her wake. From their teenage years, French women start to develop a certain chic and personal style. It is all about the nuance. Simply emphasizing the best features, and letting imperfections fade into the background. Each woman adapts her look according to her needs, tastes, desires and moods. Fragrance is the final touch, used to enhance and beautify personalities, rather than trying to become someone else.
.

.
What really sets French women a part from the rest is their sense of style, and not necessarily sense of wearing the hottest trends. Style and fashion are two different things. Style is more of how mix clothes to present your personality and not to mention your best features.

So there you have it, no fragrance on this earth will morph you into Audrey Tatou or Vanessa Paradis, however, you can certainly adopt some style references for the upcoming season from Catherine Deneuve and the French makeup.

PIG MODELS FOR JEWELRY

jeThe fashion world is stretching its boundaries for bringing in creativity and differentiation and this time its the Russians who have really stretched the boundaries. Russia's Vogue September 2010 Issue features a PIG modelling a line of precious jewelry (can you believe it, a PIG not a pretty girl!!!!!).

A glamorous piggy is all made up with mascara on its lashes and nail polish on hoofs wearing expensive jewelry. The Vogue sure must have got attention with this stint, but readers might not relish the idea of expensive jewelry modelled by a Pig. It sure is humourous but coming from a fashion magazine it seems more like a silly idea. You like?

Autumn Winter Colour Trend

Revive your wardrobe with Autumn 2010's hottest hues:
.

.
1. Camel
Camel is the key colour for autumn winter 2010 and 2011 and is the perfect shade for almost all skin types. Wear a smart camel coloured jacket (black is replace by camel this season and from Gucci to Mango to Karen Millen, everyone has this shade of coat this season), or carry a smart camel coloured tote or maybe pair a smart dress withcaml coloured boots. This is a must have colour for the season. Team tailored dresses with a touch of camel colour through a statement bag or shoes.
.

.
2. Rust
Add an element of bright to your this season's winter wardrobe with rust. Not too bright, but subtle and rusty. Rust shaded accessories would be a great way to lighten up this season's hot tailored dresses.

3. Khakhi
Wearing khakhi coloured pants is the coolest way to wear this colour trend. Pick a pair of khakhi pants like Victoria Beckham, which are as comfy and easy to wear as denim, working equally well day or night. You can pick a straight or a skinny fit or one like Posh, which is tapered and hits above the ankle for a flattering, slim fit. Dress them up with a black tuxedo blazer and platform pumps, and you've got yourself a stealth evening look
.

4. Wine
Wear your wine in solid or with prints. Floral wine coloured dresses in chiffon or georgette would be girly and sexy. Pair it with a camel coloured across body bag for adding the toughness to the look or team it with your boyfriend jacket.

.

Style tip for this winter:
This winter will see the return of ruffles, beading and lots of sparkle with studding thrown in for good measure. Team a ravishing ruffled satin evening dress with a richly gothic beaded clutch and sky-scraper heels for a modern take on traditional party wear. The easiest way to create the ladylike dressing trend is to treat yourself to chic, feminine accessories. Dress up your outfits with heels, gloves and clutches or invest in our statement nude grown-up handbag.

Stylish Workout

Having the right clothes for any situation can not only affect your mood, it can affect your performance too. So why not hit the gym looking stylish yet being comfortable?

Talking of style and fitness together, the first name that pops in my mind is Stella McCartney. Adidas collaborated with Stella McCartney and the lady has put in some real design into her fitness line. She adds interesting details that add intrigue to her pieces and turn something basic and expected into the unexpected. And trust me, with one of those pieces in your workout wardrobe, you would love to go to the gym!!!!

Nike for sure is a must-have in every workout wardrobe, Nike shoes, their pants, tanks and their famous dri-fit collection.

Girls, enough of talking. I've created some stylish workout looks and also added some stylish celebrity workout looks. With clothes this great, you'll actually want to exercise every day.

Look 1: Sexy, Chic and Comfortable

Go for a jog or head the gym in these dead gorgeous Stella McCartney (Adidas) shorts with rolled up legs and running shoes, team it with a white vest or the purple vest and for cover up the track jackets (32-49) in grey or yellow would finish the look perfectly.

Look 2: Stylish and Comfortable

Combine style and comfort by layering over form-fitting separates and understated sneakers for sporty chic. Work out in style in Nike black track pants (29.5), a yellow (19.99 ) or a black (14.99) tank top layered with Adidas by Stella McCartney pleated cotton track top with puff pleat-detailed shoulders (77.17) and paired with Adidas by Stella white tennis sneakers with yellow and grey trim (110.58).

Celebrities in their Stylish Workout Attire

Ashley Green goes the sexy route to the gym in Sherman Oaks in black and blue teamed with her black Nike Shoes and large blue tote, while Eva Mendes went for a simple understated green and grey layered look, which she completed with an oversized red Prada bag for her Hollywood Gym.

.

While other ladies choose to add a pop of colour, down below black and white reigned.

Kim Kardashian was spotted walking from the gym in a white tank top, sports bra and black stretch pants after a morning workout. Kim carried a black Balenciaga bag to carry hold over knick knacks.

.

Gym was what Kim, Ashley and Eva preferred, but Gwyneth and Renee loved their jogs on the streets.

Gwyneth Paltrow went for a jog in her local neighborhood wearing a black Adidas by Stella McCartney track top paired with cropped grey pants while saving herself from the harmful UVA rays in her smart aviators.

.

.

While Renee Zellweger went jogging in the beautiful streets of Paris, near Eiffel tower, looking chic in her a black ensemble - black shorts, tank inside a black track jacket. Love her shoes.

.
A large tote is your gym must-have. It should have room enough to carry your bottle, towel, comb, wallet, keys, lip balm and other knick knacks.
.
Tired of the ubiquitous Nike and Adidas? Need some stylish and sexy sportswear, that wouldn't hurt too much of your pockets?
Lululemon (Canadian-based Yoga clothing company ), FitnessFit (sporty and stylish workout wear) and Victoria Secrets are some of the labels that you might want to try while shopping for your fitness wear.

Bollywood goes Haute in Aisha

A leading daily recently published an article, 'Couture Goes Haute in Bollywood's Aisha', and rightly so. Aisha is India's answer to the Hollywood fashionable Sex and the City. While Sex and the City is a collection of essays by Candace Bushnell (later adapted by a TV series), Aisha is based on famous book 'Emma' of Jane Austen.

Both the movies have the Big Fashion element, and we're glad that the Indian actresses are learning the world of style and chic.
.

Aisha, which is co-produced by PVR Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films Co. Ltd, is a film that deals with a fashionable girl played by Sonam Kapoor, who is also very fashionable in real life.

The movie has tied up with high-end international brands such as Christian Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo and Chanel and is Indian cinema's first ever chick flick. Experts in the brand integration business say premium brands have been used in Bollywood films before but its for the first time that a film has incorporated so many high-end products at one go.
.
We've all seen the Promos of Aisha and they're nothing short of very stylish. All the female leads are looking chic and sophisticated. The effort that has gone into the clothes is close to what we've seen in the likes of Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City.

The female lead Sonam Kapoor and the rest of the cast will be swathed in as many as 60 Dior dresses and accessories.

.
Aisha has also tied up with premium home linen brand Portico. Sonam Kapoors bedroom in the film has been done up by Portico.
.

.

Sonam's walk-in closet reminds me of Carrie's closet in Sex and the City.
.
Other designer whose creations would be seen in Aisha is Anamika Khanna. Paticularly Amrita Puri (Who plays Shefal in the movie) would be seen in a lot of Anamika's creations.

.
Aisha's Team at the Delhi Couture Week

At the Delhi Couture Week, Amrita Puri, Lisa Haydon and Ira Dubey of Aisha walked for Anamika Khanna along with Anil Kapoor. The guy sure takes the limelight from all the sexy girls, but love what Ira is wearing.
.

.
Now that the movie is released, we're not at all disappointed with what we saw. The plot was good, the girls looked good, and yes Sonam did have a fantabulous wardrobe in the movie. Her style in the movie looked like an imitation of Blair Waldorfs (Leighton Meester) of Gossip Girls (American series) in many parts of the movie. The viewers of Gossip Girl can better relate Sonams appearance with that of Blair Waldorf, her dresses, colours of her ensemble and handbags even. But it is still a great look and light fun girlie movie.

At last Bollywood is learning to style!!!
